Sanju star Vicky Kaushal starrer Uri: The Surgical Strike has turned out to be a massive hit of 2019. Directed by debutant Aditya Dhar, Uri earned Rs 35.73 crore on its opening weekend.

Featuring Vicky, Yami Gautum, Paresh Rawal and Mohit Raina in pivotal characters, Uri is based on India's first official surgical strike on Uri Army Base camp in Kashmir.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh posted about the collection of Uri on his official Twitter account. “#UriTheSurgicalStrike emerges the FIRST HIT of 2019… Indeed, 2019 has started with high josh… Sets the BO on Day 3… Packs a solid total in its opening weekend… Fri 8.20 cr, Sat 12.43 cr, Sun 15.10 cr. Soon after, Adarsh shared another tweet revealing that the Dhar directorial is expected to stay strong over the weekdays as well. He said, “#UriTheSurgicalStrike day-wise growth… Sat: 51.59%. Sun: 21.48% Taking into account the terrific trending, #Uri is expected to maintain a super-strong grip on weekdays. India biz. #HowsTheJosh.”
Although, Uri has received mixed reviews but the fact that the Indian audience is desperate to witness Indian army's first-ever covert operation is inevitable. The foot-fall at the theatres showing Uri is not decreasing anytime soon.
