Uri star Yami Gautam says Bollywood should make more patriotism infused films and more!


Yami Gautam and Vicky Kaushal will be sharing screen space in their forthcoming film Uri; the movie is all set to hit the theatres on January 11.

30-year-old actress Yami, who is busy promoting her upcoming film these days, said in a interview that Indian film industry makes really few "patriotism infused films," while speaking to a leading news daily. "We anyway make less patriotism infused films, so after a long time the audience will see something like this which is based on a very important true event. We really hope the audience loves the film," she said.

While talking about the audience's reaction towards the trailer of Uri, Yami said that it received an "amazing" response and she is very excited about the film's release. " There is happy nervousness and excitement about the release of the film within our team. The kind of response we have been receiving for the trailer of the film is really amazing," actress commented.

Uri is a patriotic film which is based on the surgical strike carried out by the Indian army at Kashmir in 2016. The official trailer of Uri released a month ago and indeed went insanely viral. The film's trailer has over 1,937,562 views on YouTube till date. Incredible performances by Vicky and Yami in the pivotal roles are being highly appreciated since the time trailer has released.

In the film, Yami Gautam plays an intelligence officer for the first time in her career. "Wherever we are going to promote the film, people are saying they are really looking forward for the release of the film because it is for the first time we have made a film on surgical strikes in India," she proudly adds up during her interview.

Apart from Yami Gautam and Vicky Kaushal, Uri also features some more fine actors such as Paresh Rawal, Kirti Kulhari and Mohit Raina. The movie releasing on January 11, 2019 is directed by Aditya Dhar and produced by Ronnie Screwvala.

Gorgeous Yami Gautam made her remarkable Bollywood debut with Vicky Donor in 2012 and was last featured in Batti Gul Mere Chalu along with Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor.
