As it is the debut of Sridevi and Boney Kapoor's elder daughter Janhvi Kapoor, fans were on their peak of excitement to see if Dhadak could recreate the magic of Sairat.

The film began its over-the-top run on Friday and managed to earn Rs 8.71 crore. According to the reports, the movie crossed the first-day collection of Karan Johar’s ‘Student Of The Year’ by becoming the highest opening Bollywood film featuring newcomers.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh reviewed the movie’s box office collection as ‘rare’ and ‘heroic’. Moreover, in a media interaction, Taran stated, “The comparisons were inevitable because Sairat is a blockbuster. However, Dhadak is different in terms of the setting, texture and it’s modified for a pan Indian and international audience. It has its moments and has been received with a lot of love by the moviegoers.”
