Bajrang Punia (Men's Wrestling)
24-year-old freestyle wrestler, Bajrang Punia made the whole nation proud by winning a gold medal in the category of Men's Freestyle wrestling event at the 18th Asian Games. Born in Khudan village of Jhajjar district in the state of Haryana, Punia began wrestling at the age of seven and was encouraged to pursue the sport by his father.
Vinesh Phogat (Women's Wrestling)
With wrestling running in her veins, Vinesh Phogat is the cousin of international wrestlers Geeta and Babita Phogat. Vinesh made the whole nation proud by winning a gold medal in the category of Women's Freestyle wrestling event at the 18th Asian Games. Also, after winning a gold medal in the freestyle women's wrestling, she became the only Indian woman wrestler to win gold in both Commonwealth and Asian games.
Saurabh Chaudhary (Men's Shooting)
Saurabh Chaudhary is an Indian sport shooter who won a Gold medal at the 2018 Asian Games. Born in Jat family in Meerut, Saurabh trained in Baba Shahmal Shooting Academy Binauli Baghpat.
Deepak Kumar (Men's Shooting)
Yet-another Indian athlete who made India proud, Deepak Kumar won a silver medal in Men’s shooting event at the 18th Asian Games. Indian sports shooter Deepak Kumar won the bronze medal at the 2018 ISSF World Cup in Guadalajara in the 10 metre air rifle mixed team event with Mehuli Ghosh.
Lakshay Sheoran (Men's Shooting)
Born in Haryana, Indian athlete Lakshay Sheoran is the son of former wrestling national champion Somveer pehelwan. Indian sports shooter Lakshay Sheoran won a silver medal in trap shooting at the 18th Asian Games.
Ravi Kumar and Apurvi Chandela (Mixed Team Shooting)
28-year-old Indian sport shooter, Ravi Kumar made the whole nation proud by pairing up with Apurvi Chandela for competing in the mixed shooting event. The duo brought home a bronze medal in the same category.
Abhishek Verma (Men's Shooting)
Yet-another unsung hero, Abhishek Verma won a bronze medal in the men’s shooting event at the Jakarta Palembang 2018 Asian Games. Hailing from Chandigarh, Abhishek has qualified for the further rounds in the 18th Asian Games.
