Ranveer Singh to be honored with Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Award

The energizer bunny of Bollywood Ranveer Singh has been finalised for the Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Award as Best Actor of 2018 for his mega hit movie, Padmaavat. Ever since the movie released, not only Ranveer received an incredible positive response for his portrayal of the merciless Alauddin Khilji but also he has opened new limits for an A-lister actor.

Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Awards aren’t the same as Dadsaheb Phalke Award given by the Indian government. Both critics and audience believed Ranveer's performance to be 'path-breaking' and 'outstanding', giving Bollywood one of its most iconic villains of all time.

“We take immense pleasure to inform you that you have been finalised for The Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Award 2018 for the memorable role for the Padmaavat,” the Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Award committee wrote to Ranveer announcing his award.


Including this, Ranveer now has three awards of Best Actor for his mind blowing performance in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmaavat. Also, Ranveer's Dil Dhadakne Do co-star Anushka Sharma Kohli will be awarded by the same for generating successful movies as a path breaking producer. 


On the work front, Ranveer will be seen in Zoya Akhtar's Gully Boy, Rohit Shetty's Simmba and Kabir Khan's '83. Anushka, on the other hand, is currently busy with Yash Raj Films' Sui Dhaaga: Made in India co-starring Varun Dhawan
