Trends of SS19 to keep you ahead of time

Feature

Can you believe 2018 is almost over and so are all the spring – summer ‘19 fashion shows? This year fashion witnessed a lot of diversity, indeed, nationally as well as internationally. This year trend forecasts changed almost every month at a really fast pace and most of us couldn’t keep a track of them. Well, don’t worry ladies, 2018 is passé but we’ve got you covered for the next season already. We are here to tell you, what all would you need for SS19 to stay ahead in the fashion, always.

Buy now or cry later

Cultism and wanderlust are basically the two major themes we got to keep in mind while shopping for the next flower season. From reimaging basic suits to taking a leap into some styles which are all set to come back, including everyone’s least favourite retro trend puffed sleeves.

Mentioned below are few of the major trends that you need to keep in mind when you go shopping, next sale season and stock up on these fashion-forward, in advance:

Colour of the season

As all you fashionistas must be aware, Pantone colour of the year 2018 is violet and this year’s been all about the nudes. However, next year you can expect those racks in your favourite stores to be brightened up with Tangy orange and sunshine yellow. Shades of turmeric, jester red, peacock pink and pepper stem green should be your go-to for the next spring-summer season. It’s about time when we move ahead from neutral colours to a colourful summer ahead. New York and London Fashion Week SS19 portrayed that marigold is the flower of this dazzling season.

Designers like Prabal Gurung, Oscar de la Renta, Carolina Herrera, amongst others showed us how we can carry these colours with everything from PVC jackets to flowy evening gowns.

24 Carat Indian

Although SS19 is going to be too bright for the eyes, one can still opt petals and corals with golden foiling on the attire. Especially for Indian – traditional wear, one can go for chanderi and net fabrics with either got to or mirror work. Silver embroideries were so 2018, next year gold is going to make a comeback in a subtle yet luxurious way.

Designer Reynu Taandon at India Couture Week (ICW) this year abandoned her love for polkis and pearls and made a remark with golden gottas and mirror work.

Puffed Up

For better or for worse, puff sleeves are fashion industry’s new favourite trends that are making a solid come back next spring. Definitely, there’s going to be a modern touch to this perfect hybrid of the Victorian era and 80’s OG. To keep it fresh and super cute next summer, they can be incorporated in a crop top as well as feminine knee-length frocks.

Recently, at ICW designer label, Shyamal and Bhumika showcased this sleeve trend in the delicate net fabric on the blouses of their lehengas very exquisitely with Indian Princess Collection. They used colours like stem green and rusted yellow with setting them apart from the rest.

Power Suits

Ladies, amidst lehengas and dresses, do not forget about power dressing at your work or even evening functions. Bright evening jackets with same coloured pants are back into fashion. So when you go out shopping next time, didn’t forget to add a pant-suit in your carts. Today women are powerful and leading everywhere across the globe, for a queen to reign she needs to adapt power dressing as well.

Women ruling the Bollywood industries right now, from gorgeous Deepika Padukone to fierce Radhika Apte can all be seen wearing pants on the red carpet as well.

Cut it short

Talking about comfort work wear, bike shorts for women are going to be in huge demand as they’re easy to style and too cool for summers. Taking your street style or travel-wear options to next level team them up with crop tops or crotchet blouses. If you’re wondering how could this thing be suitable for work just pair them up with your structured blazers and you’re good to go.

International designers like Nanushka, Miaou, Maryam Nassir Zadeh took over the runway with the biker brigade.

Women who wish to stay ahead in the game must look out of these emerging fashion trends to take over spring summer 2019. These major colour changes with a nostalgic touch are important for your next year’s closet.
