We are talking about the external storage of a device. Yes, not internal (in-built) but external. We hereby introduce to you the latest invention of the SD Association, SD Ultra Capacity (SDUC). The manufacturers of Micro SD cards, SD Association recently announced a new SD format which will enable the new SD cards, a storage of 128 TBs.

Aren't you shocked? Even a single TB storage is more than enough to store up to 100000 images. And with such gigantic external SD cards about to launch, you better get clicking. If you are a tech-junkie then you must be wondering about the data-transfer rate. Well! SD Association is way-ahead then your old-school technologies; SD Express format will bring popular PCI Express and NVMe interfaces to the traditional SD interface which will enable the cards to deliver data at a 985 MB/s transfer rate.

SD Express memory cards will range from 2 TBs with SDXC to 128 TBs with SDUC. So, it is nothing to brag about if upcoming cell-phones become capable of supporting up to 100 TBs of external storage. SDA President, Hiroyuki Sakamoto said "With SD Express we’re offering an entirely new level of memory card with faster protocols turning cards into a removable SSD."
