Creed II Movie Review: Michael B. Jordan's performance is as hard-hitting as Adonis Creed's punches in the movie

What began in 1976 with Sylvester Stallone as Rocky Balboa became one of the most viewed sports-movie franchise. The story which began with a solo character of a goon named as Rocky soon becomes famous and ropes in other pivotal characters including Apollo Creed. And now when the makers have announced an eighth instalment to the Rocky/Creed series, you wonder whether the movie is going to be a drag or not!

Adonis Creed: I ain't gotta choice

Well, let us assure that it is not. Even after witnessing 6 Rocky(s) and 1 Creed movie, director Steven Caple Jr. easily manages to extract and present the best part of the remaining story to the audience. Our critics also mentioned that Creed II is the best Rocky-movie after Rocky IV.

Talking about the story of the movie, director Steven takes you back to the first Creed. The story began right when Ivan Drago killed the former U.S. boxing champion Apollo Creed in a boxing match. Although, Creed's friend and lead character, Rocky defeats Drago in another boxing match in Russia but this event does some serious damage to both the families; Creeds and Dragos.

In this movie, Apollo's son, Adonis Creed aka Michael B. Jordan takes the front-stage for the final battle with Drago's son, Viktor Drago. Unlike previous parts, Creed II shows a new side to the character of Ivan Drago. Produced by Sylvester Stallone, the movie will take you to the back story of Rocky's nemesis Ivan Drago and how his wife left and he was shamed for losing in his own country by an American.

In order to take revenge, Ivan trains Viktor into becoming a beast. Watching both the characters; Adonis (Michael) and Viktor (Florian Munteanu), clearly indicates that the actors had to go through a lot. And there is no denying of the fact that the performance of the Creed II cast including Sylvester Stallone, Dolph Lundgren, Michael B Jordan, Florian Munteanu and Tessa Thompson, has paid off.

Creed II is a much-awaited masterpiece of the Rocky/Creed franchise. As we mentioned the story of the sports-drama movie is bone-chilling and the visualization of the story is even more compelling. The iconic Rocky music and Stallone's bold on-screen presence makes Creed II, a must-watch for everyone.

From direction to cinematography; there is not even a single lag in the movie. Talking about Black Panther actor Michael, words are not enough to describe his on-screen swag and bold dialogue deliveries. It won't be wrong to say that out of all the actors, Jordan steals the limelight for Creed II's success. Jordan's acting is as hard-hitting as his character, Adonis' punches.

Talking about our beloved Balboa, Sylvester nails it in every scene. Just watching the iconic actor on-screen while training Adonis, gives you a sudden adrenaline rush which is completely worth it. If you book your ticket for watching Steven Caple Jr. directorial, then you won’t be disappointed.

As per our final verdict, the movie is a piece of art which is best-viewed on a 70mm screen. However, the concept of taking revenge inside a ring in the old-school way has become a cliché and some people are bored of it. We will like to award it with 7 out of 10 stars for overall entertainment
