Secret Superstar Movie Review: Aamir Khan weaves his magic in cinema once again!

After the huge success of Dangal, Aamir Khan and Zaira Wasim have again set the silver screen on fire with their latest release Secret Superstar. This movie surely a must watch for everyone and please avoid any liquids because you wouldn't want any loo temptation in this one.

Like any other city in India, the story of Secret Superstar is set in Baroda. More than the place, the movie focuses on the people living there and their dreams. A high school girl Insia Malik (Zaira)- is one of those who get mature at a tender age and dreams to be a singer, because dream dekhna toh basic hota haina.. A furious father who is against Insia's dream but a loving mother who is ready to give it all. Then enters, Shakti Kumarr (Aamir) and the adventure and fun begins. Will Insia become the superstar, she always wanted to be?

The screenplay did justice to the script, but we would have surely liked to see more of Aamir Khan and Zaira Wasim in the movie. You feel a bit bored as you come near to the interval, maybe because there’s too much of emotional drama and Shakti Kumarr is the only one bringing some spark in the movie. Overall, the 2 hours 35 minutes of your life will not feel wasted, I’m sure.

Moving on to the star performance, Zaira Wasim is an absolute treat. She is a gem gifted to Bollywood and a superstar in making. Aamir Khan, as we all know it, is the best of the best. When he makes you laugh, you laugh your guts out. He connects us with Insia's story portraying the role of a man whose dreams were killed incomplete. Not to forget, Insia's mother Meher Vij, is an integral part of the story and she has delivered an outstanding performance. Her prettiness is ten folded with her honest performance. Tirth Sharma, another treasure of the film. He plays Chintan, the friend of Insia. He along with the actor who plays Zaira’s little brother totally deserve a special mention.

Without a doubt, Secret Superstar is one of the best movies we have witnessed in 2017. A simple and small story which leaves a huge mark by the end. Amit Trivedi smartly composes the music which majorly will work with the situation of the film. Main Kaun Hoon – the signature song of the film will surely be with you even when you leave the cinema hall. Nachdi Phira is like one of those AR Rahman songs which works like a slow poison. Meri Pyaari Ammi, Gudgudi & I Miss You goes with the mood of the film.

Directed by Advait Chandan, Secret Superstar deserves no less than 9/10/ This was one of those movies, in which after watching you text your mom and tell her how much you love her. Watch the film and start believing!
