Seethakathi Trailer: Vijay Sethupathi plays an intriguing old actor

Vijay Sethupathi starrer Seethakathi's trailer just hit the internet this morning and has been getting a lot of appreciation from Kollywood fans. This epic movie is directed by Balaji Tharaneetharan and Vijay plays a very interesting role of an aging actor.

Seethakathi will release on December 20, 2018. 

Seethakathi is Tamil film loosely based on the life of a wealthy philanthopist, Seethakathi. Film also shows his passion for Tamil literature.

Actor Vijay Sethupathi plays the character named, Ayya Adhimoolam, who is a drama artist and a fine actor but things starts to get ugly all of a sudden when he disappears from the movies. Well known Kollywood director, Bharathiraja also has a part in this film; he is playing a movie director. Earlier, he was approached for the role of Ayya but he refused for the same.

Heavy makeup has been used on Vijay's body for him to look old in this film. Alot of his fans gave their feedback about the trailer by saying a specific scene where Ayya kneels down on the stage and breaks down was so splendidly done that it made people cry. In this scene, actor quotes, "I am a tired old man. I, myself, have become history."

Seethakathi has been written and directed by Balaji Tharaneetharan and its star cast includes J.Mahendran, Bagavathi Perumal, Archana, and Gayathrie among others. The movie was supposed to release on November 16 but due to some issues it will now hit the theatres on December 20.
