Yash starrer KGF becomes the first Kannada film to enter the Rs 200 crore club!

KGF: Chapter 1 has left everyone in splits. From the audience to the critics, no one seems to stop praising the movie. Resulting in the film to become the first of many to come; to begin with, the film has become the first Kannada film to make Rs 120 crore in Karnataka. Despite strong competition from Ranveer Singh starrer Simmba and SRK's Zero, KGF is performing well.

The film has been performing well in other languages as well, especially in Tamil and Telugu versions. In almost three weeks of its release, the film has earned over Rs 197.56 crore and if reports are to be believed, KGF is very close to surpass the magical figure of Rs 200 crore globally.

In other news, the film has also been performing well in the United States. Till now, it has earned over Rs. 5.31 crore at the US box office.

In other news, Yash turns 33 today. However, he announced that he won’t be celebrating his 33rd birthday due to the recent demise of veteran actor Ambareesh. “There is a time for celebration and then there is a time for remembrance and reflection. This year is for the latter(sic),” the actor captioned a video he shared on his Twitter account.

In the video, Yash requested his fans to respect his sentiments and avoid celebrating his birthday this year. “We don’t have Rebel star Ambareesh with us this year. And so I have decided to not celebrate my birthday in his honour,” he said.

On Monday, film trade analyst Taran Adarsh disclosed KGF’s latest earnings in the Hindi speaking belt. According to Adarsh, the Hindi version of the film is fast nearing the Rs 40 crore mark in the domestic market. “#KGF biz at a glance…Week 1: RS. 21.45 cr. Week 2: RS. 11.50 cr. Weekend 3: RS. 4.25 cr. Total: RS. 37.20 cr. India biz. Note: HINDI version(sic),” he tweeted.
